I don't know when we started calling ourselves that? But we always have. There are five of us in this crazy house. Plus a dog - Darwin, and three cats- Harley, SophieStorm and IzzyB. We lead a loud, happy and fun life. Life has gotten more hectic with my daughter's Type 1 diabetes diagnosis but it hasn't slowed us down at all.
I'm in my early 40s and I've been married for almost 20 years to the love of my life. We make our home in the Chicago 'burbs and I love it. I don't know how I grew up in the city (Southwest Side represent!).
I have my teaching degree (elementary education with history and english as minors) and decided after our scrap store failed to reinvent myself and headed back to college. College is much much sweeter the 2nd time around! I love Biology...it feels like coming home and it sure has prepared me for Type 1 Diabetes and anything else life throws our way. I will graduate with my masters in two semesters and can't wait to go out and get a "real" job. I'm very interested in research, especially in the diabetes field (of course!).
So I'm in school full-time, and I have one adult child in college (locally) and my son is a sophomore and my daughter is in 5th grade already. It's astounding how fast time really does fly by. Grab a coffee and sit back and get to know us! We are thrilled you are here!
